چکیده

For developing and testing of power electronic converters and circuits, voltages and currents have to be measured to verify the proper mode of operation. In cascaded converters or multi-level topologies, the voltages to be measured contain common mode components up to several kV with transients up to several tens of kV/μs. Conventional isolated voltage measurement systems do either not meet the high voltage isolation requirements or exhibit a rather large coupling capacitance to ground. In combination with the high voltage transients, this coupling capacitance on the one hand impacts the circuit under test and on the other hand influences the voltage measurement. To reduce these effects, the coupling capacitance of the measurement system must be minimized. In this paper, a wireless voltage probe (WVP) is introduced to measure accurately on a high and transient reference voltage with minimal impact on the circuit under test. The basic concept and practical realization of the WVP are discussed and finally verified with measurements on a high power medium voltage IGBT converter system.

High Resolution Image with Multi-wall Carbon Nanotube Atomic Force Microscopy Tip (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper, a simple and reproducible approach for attaching the multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) to the apex of the atomic force microscope probe has been proposed. For this purpose, the dielectrophoresis method was applied due to its simple performance, cheapness and reliability. In this method, various parameters such as voltage, frequency, concentration of carbon nanotubes solution an...

A 100-MS/s 8-b CMOS Subranging ADC with Sustained Parametric Performance

A 100-MS/s 8-b CMOS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed for very low supply voltage and power dissipation is presented. This single-ended-input ADC is based on the unified two-step subranging architecture, which processes the coarse and fine decisions in identical signal paths to maximize their matching. However, to minimize power and area, the coarse-to-fine overlap correction has been ...

SleepWalker: A 25-MHz 0.4-V Sub-mm2 7-µW/MHz Microcontroller in 65-nm LP/GP CMOS for Low-Carbon Wireless Sensor Nodes

Integrated circuits for wireless sensor nodes (WSNs) targeting the Internet-of-Things (IoT) paradigm require ultralow-power consumption for energy-harvesting operation and low die area for low-cost nodes. As the IoT calls for the deployment of trillions of WSNs, minimizing the carbon footprint for WSN chip manufacturing further emerges as a third target in a design-for-the-environment (DfE) per...

Empirical and theoretical dosimetry in support of whole body radio frequency (RF) exposure in seated human volunteers at 220 MHz.

This study reports the dosimetry performed to support an experiment that measured physiological responses of seated volunteer human subjects exposed to 220 MHz fields. Exposures were performed in an anechoic chamber which was designed to provide uniform fields for frequencies of 100 MHz or greater. A vertical half-wave dipole with a 90 degrees reflector was used to optimize the field at the sub...

Magnetic force microscopy using fabricated cobalt-coated carbon nanotubes probes

Magnetic force microscope ( MFM ) is a powerful technique for mapping the magnetic force gradient above the sample surface. Herein, single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) were used to fabricate MFM probe by dielectrophoresis method which is a reproducible and cost-effective technique. The effect of induced voltage on the deposition manner of carbon nanotubes (CNT) on the atomic force microscope (...
